*Closing Hymn Lord, When You Came to Jordan Tune: Ellacombe • Lyrics: Brian Wren, 1979
And asked to be baptized, What was Your vow and vision Of love and sacrifice? Was there a sudden splendor Of prophets, priests, and kings, A wind that stirred the waters, A blur of mighty wings?
Of all You had become, The Spirit's power and blessing: "Go now, You are My Son?" Did scripture join with scripture In words of sharp surprise: "The Lord's Messiah shall conquer, Rejected and despised?"
Of when and why and how, But craves the gift of seeing What God is doing now. Lord, bring us to our Jordan Of newly opened eyes, Through love, immersed in living, As You were once baptized.
*Blessing
and Benediction *Postlude
*All who are able, please stand. |

Those serving in the military in our nation are away from home and loved ones. Mail is a connection that they look forward to daily - a word of care and encouragement. Do you have a family member or friend who is currently serving our nation? We would like their addresses so we can offer our congregation opportunity to be encouragers to these soldiers. Helen Quinn will be coordinating this effort. Please give her the FULL address of your loved one or friend or you may email it to her. A list of those name & addresses is now available on the table by the Prayer Quilt.
Wanted: Gift Wrap and Shoe Boxes: As you pack up after the holidays please keep in mind that the youth would love your leftover Christmas gift wrap and shoe boxes. Both are used each summer in our Operation Christmas Child Shoe Box Gift Campaign. This year we sent 61 shoe boxes full of goodies overseas in time for Christmas. You can drop off your donations in the church office. Thanks so much!
