*PRAYER OF CONSECRATION (in unison) Holy
God, we are grateful for your constant presence in our lives. We
acknowledge that every perfect gift in our lives is a gift from
you. We have listened to your guidance, directing us to offer you
our first fruits. So, we now join in this generous act of giving.
We pray that these resources may care for your children
everywhere who are experiencing distress. Amen. WE SCATTER TO SERVE IN THE WORLD
*CLOSING HYMN God, whose giving knows no ending
God, whose giving knows no ending, from your rich and endless store– nature’s wonder, Jesus’ wisdom, costly cross, grave’s shattered door– gifted by you, we turn to you, offering up ourselves in praise; thankful song shall rise forever, gracious Donor of our days.
Skills and time are ours for pressing toward the goals of Christ, your Son: all at peace in health and freedom, races joined, the Church made one. Now direct our daily labor, lest we strive for self alone. Born with talents, make us servants fit to answer at your throne.
Treasure, too, you have entrusted, gain through powers your grace conferred, ours to use for home and kindred, and to spread the gospel word. Open wide our hand in sharing, as we heed Christ’s ageless call, healing, teaching, and reclaiming,
*BENEDICTION AND BLESSING

On Wednesday, September 9, you have an opportunity to join with other Christians across our greater community in praying for our schools. Churches of the Cadillac Area Ministerial Association have taken a school to especially hold in prayer. Our church will be specifically praying for Cadillac High School. We will gather near the front entrance of the school at 7:00 p.m. to share in prayer. Our prayers will be for a good school year for all the students and staff and for safety and protection for all. It would be wonderful to have a couple of dozen persons come and pray together. Plan to come and share in praying for our young people and our school staff.
Thank you, dear friends, so very much for the beautiful prayer quilt. It not only keeps the body warm but, most importantly, the soul. Your prayers, love and visits are so appreciated. Betty Klinker
Various books have been donated to our church library from Ruth Bouwma’s estate. These books can be found on the top two shelves of the library cart. Please take a few minutes to look over the titles. You may find some good reading to check out.
Our Fall Schedule will begin on September 13 with worship at 8:30 and 11:00 a.m.. It is also Rally Day with Church School for all ages resuming at 9:30 a.m. A Mini-Brunch” will be served beginning at 9:15 a.m. Mark you calendar!!
Do you enjoy garage sales? Shirley Peterson is looking for a young mom or two who know what kind of toys children like and would enjoy looking through garage sales for “like new” used toys and dolls for the Dolls and Toys Store at Holiday Bazaar November 7. If you are interested, please call Shirley.
Our UMW Holiday Bazaar, scheduled for November 7, is in need of like new (not broken) jewelry, like new shoes and purses, like new (not soiled or dirty) toys and dolls, useable fabrics, cookbooks and like new used books, vintage, popular books and books from the years 2000 to 2009. If you like doing crafts or needlework and would like to donate some of your homemade items to the bazaar (proceeds go to missions) that would be wonderful.
We are still looking for a few good people to help with our Power Point Ministry Team for Sunday worship. If you have a creative edge and would like to help create or if you would like to be a “button pusher,“ please contact Laurie. Thanks!!

This eight week course study uses Matthew as a springboard for viewing the New Testament. Some questions to be discussed are: Who is Jesus? Why is he important? How did Jesus impact the Hebrew and Gentile worlds? You can sign up for this study by calling Diane in the church office (775-5362) or emailing the office at umccadillac@sbcglobal.net. If you have questions, or for more information, contact Dave Bassett or Richard Kraemer . |
